A friend of mine that is lefthanded says everyone is born lefthanded but only the gifted master it and the rest go to right-handed!

 

I do hold my pen funny though. A bit of rebellion against the nuns lol. You can force me to use my right hand but I’ll hold my pen whichever damn way I want

 

The word "Sinister" comes from the Latin word for left handed. Is it any wonder Catholic School Nuns had a problem with it?
Then there's the infamous left handed compliment.

 

I’ve heard of backhanded compliments but never left handed.

 

Just because I never know when I might be wrong, I googled both terms and they're interchangable.

Fine control with my left, (write, eat, brush my teeth) and oddly play hockey lefty. Other strength things I do righty: Throw balls, frisbees, bowl, hit a baseball, use saws. (I push the pen or pencil lefty, not curve my wrist and pull the implement).

 

Good to have a dad like that.

 

My wife is left handed, went to Catholic grammar school, nun whacked her left hand with a ruler to force her to use her right hand. Her dad went to the school, grabbed the nun’s ruler, snapped it in half and told the nun if she ever hit his daughter again, that her arm would be the next thing he broke.

End of problem, good for her dad.

 

I would always be wrong in my mother’s eyes. The priest and nuns were never wrong. Don’t talk back, don’t disobey, just do what you’re told. I followed that rule throughout grammar school. High school, not so much. That’s why I got kicked out, because I stood up for myself and didn’t give a fuck about the consequences. My mom apologized when I talked about it with her when I was an adult. It’s nice clearing the air like that

 

I was never hit thankfully. But it blows my mind this was even a thing. As a parent now, I wouldn’t let anyone do this to my kid. Especially the hitting part. If anyone ever laid a hand on my kid, I would not ne responsible for my actions.

 

I never told my parents about what s going on at school. And they were too bussy making money.

 

But not all lefties are good guys lol. But these ones are ☺️

I went to catholic grammar school. I’d be standing in line with my hands in my pant pockets. The nun would whack me in the hand with the yardstick and tell me to take my hands out of my pockets. I had no idea what I was doing wrong. When I got older I realized what she was thinking. Fucked upped shit for a second grader

Oh I can do that too! And write backwards! But yet I can’t solve the simplest of riddles. Like, my brain just doesn’t work that way.

 

I can read and write upside down. I think most elementary level teachers can, though. We do it daily when working with small groups or one on one.
