Lately, it feels like there's a new ice cream pint, bar, or treat landing on shelves practically every day—and it's not even summer yet. From Häagen-Dazs' new cones and dipped bars to ice cream sandwiches made with French macarons at Trader Joe's, there is no shortage of innovation in the freezer aisle. And yet, when the craving strikes, I have to admit I still find myself falling back on old reliables. And, nine times out of 10, that means a pint of Ben & Jerry's. The company's latest flavor might just make that closer to 10/10 times.
Ben & Jerry's Launches New Chocolate Caramel Brownie
Of course, the Vermont-based ice cream maker is known for its swirls, chunks, and pop culture-inspired flavors, but Ben & Jerry's non-dairy flavors are not to be missed, in my opinion. I'm lactose intolerant, so I avoid traditional dairy for the most part, and since the company decided to reformulate its non-dairy base about a year ago, I think they're among the best dairy-free ice cream flavors I've ever tried.
Lucky me, Ben & Jerry's latest addition to its lineup is a non-dairy-exclusive flavor. Better yet, the new Chocolate Caramel Brownie may just be its most decadent non-dairy flavor ever. It features a chocolate non-dairy oat milk base, salted caramel swirls, almond toffee pieces, and fudge brownies. The whole pint is certified vegan, so whether you're plant-based, lactose intolerant, have food allergies, or are just non-dairy curious, you can enjoy it.
If you know Ben & Jerry's, you know that the fudge brownies are worth digging through the pint for (I'm not proud to admit I've excavated a pint or two and left the remaining ice cream for another day), so this flavor is a must-try. And, having tasted almost the entire non-dairy lineup last year, I can genuinely say if the label on the pint was hidden, these flavors would fool even the most stringent dairy lover and win over some hearts.
Needless to note, I'll be running to the store to grab a pint—or three. The Non-Dairy Chocolate Caramel Brownie is coming to shelves now nationwide, where it will retail for $4.99-$6.49. And don't forget that Free Cone Day is back in April, so you can try even more brownie-loaded ice cream from your two favorite guys—on the house.
