Fans Furious At YG Entertainment After 2NE1’s Dara Speaks About BLACKPINK’s Lisa
Dara revealed that Lisa had such powerful vocals when she was under training that she was once told to turn off her microphone.

BLACKPINK’s Lalisa Manobal, aka Lisa, is one of the most celebrated K-pop idols around the world. With her unique music and powerful vocals, she has made a name for herself in the music industry. She is recognised as an all-rounder, excelling in dance, rap and performance. However, Lisa’s position in the YG Entertainment group remains to be that of the main dancer and rapper. So, when 2NE1’s member Sandara Park, aka Dara, commented about Lisa’s vocals, it caused a huge uproar among her fans.
The 2NE1 member, who is a judge on the controversial show Under 15, caught attention on the internet when she shared insights about the BLACKPINK member’s vocals. During the show, Dara spoke about her talent, revealing that Lisa had such powerful vocals when she was under training that she was once told to turn off her microphone.

“Back when I was with BLACKPINK friends, before their debut, during their monthly evaluations, I was there once. Watching each of them perform on stage, these days, everyone uses their mics, right? They told Lisa not to turn on her mic because her voice was so powerful," Dara said, immediately leaving everyone in awe.
In no time, the clip went viral, with ardent fans of Lisa expressing their fury over YG Entertainment as they believed that the company tried to hold back her from showing her full potential. Many wondered why the agency did not want Lisa to showcase her abilities.
One fan said, “That company tried everything to push her back, and yet you see dumb blinks like villainpinks saying that she should go back to YG. "
Someone else added, “So not only did they want her to tone down her dancing to balance the group but also tone down her voice? No wonder she has doubts about her capabilities when she’s still under YG and she’s just now gaining much more confidence showcasing more of said capabilities."
“Sometimes I feel like YG’s nasal vocal training ruined her vocal cords. She sings good now no doubt, but she was the best pre-debut," wrote a different fan.
Another fan quipped, “We always knew Lisa’s really the ACE, but thanks Dara for reminding us once again. We will not take anyone’s opinion unless they worked personally with LISA."
As for Lisa’s work front, the Thai rapper and singer released her first full-length album Alter Ego on February 28 through the label LLOUD. She also made her acting debut with the third season of The White Lotus.
