VN - Ren'Py - Growing Thing's Up [v0.34a] [Kinkbr]

The title has a grammar mistake. The first line of text in the game has a typo/grammar error. There are non-native English issues throughout. The writer does not know what the word "delicious" means. In one of the very early scenes a bed magically gains a sheet and pillows from one line to the next. Essentially, despite having high quality renders, the attention to detail is shit.

There are a ton of women throwing themselves at MC, and you can mostly dodge the ones you aren't interested, but I couldn't dodge Sarah, which annoyed me.

The game also suffers heavily from the very common affliction of Boobus-Gigantus. There are 3 women (2 LIs and a side girl?) in the game with reasonable tits. The rest are all trying to contain weather balloons in their shirts and mostly failing.

Despite all of the above, I still played to the end of the .34 update. Mostly because the visuals are very good, and Reina and Anna are extremely hot.

I see other reviews talking about forced lesbian content. Perhaps that's an older version of the game? I did not encounter any lesbian content, forced or otherwise.

I like it, the story is interesting, the MC is not some total asshole, the renders look good, the girls have personality and there is even a interesting and pretty dark backstory which actually takes itself serious which is nice to see.

Tho there was this scene where two kids (MC and sister in a flashback) were skinny dipping and like... yuck why would you put it in there? Sure the genatalia was hidden but it still weirded me out. Like just put them in underwear or something idk

GAME that PROMISES BUT...

Typical story of a young man who arrives at a house full of girls who want to sleep with him... the scenes don't make much sense but oh well.
There is no good argument as to why girls want to sleep with him, although in other aspects it improves.

Then the part of the cameras and the knife attack that takes you to jail make the game a little more interesting, although it is not well explained why you get out of jail.

PROS

• Excellent Renders with high quality
• Nice animations with good movement
• Nice ambiet music
• Story is ok
• The first animation does have sound

CONS

• There are some sex scenes where there are no animations, just images.
• The animations have no sound, just a moan from time to time.
• The last scenes when the mc cums, he simply inserts his DICK into the vagina and cums, no animation follows (it's WEIRD)
• The supposed click&point is only based on touching 2 or 3 objects but there is no FREE ROAM as such...

The girls are all attractive, they're all throwing themselves at you, and the graphics are top notch. The story's an acid trip, though. I mean that metaphorically. Good luck to anyone seriously trying to get invested in it.

Unfortunately it's ruined by nonsense minigames and every girl throwing themselves at you. The MC is just a submissive loser who has to do whatever he is told and that's awful

The UI is pretty standard renpy except the menu screen has ridiculous icons that you have to guess their meaning, not even well chosen icons, especially for load - which you will need a lot thanks to the asshole minigames

The writing is pretty well done, the mystery plot doesnt detract from the girls like it does in so many vn's. Surprising given the writing that the title was so royally screwed up with an out of place apostrophe

The minigame took enjoyment went from "average despite the girls throwing themselves" to basically unplayable.

Really wishing this doesn't get abandoned. Need more of Bella, she's the main LI for me. The pacing is great.. just keep going. Lot of curves. Need more tease and outfits. Shopping booth scenes and more events where the girls can cycle through different costumes would take this to the next level

just played 0.33, It started slow and not very interesting but it gets better, than the twist, hope to see more from this game, story is getting interesting, hope to see more with all the girls. character models are good, scenes are good to.....will come back to the game when there is more to play

The girls mostly look good, the scenes themselves are also pretty good, both in quality and the angle of the shots themselves are nice.

This game is a complete disappointment. The story is mediocre at best, and the pacing is dreadful—it’s been 1.5 years, and we’re still stuck in the beginning stages.

The main character is a lifeless puppet and the forced lesbian content is unavoidable. If you're into submissive MCs and forced female-dom content, this game may appeal to you. The only redeeming factor is the character models, and somehow that’s enough for people to give this guy $3k a month.

I honestly don’t understand it. You're paying for minimal effort while the developer takes advantage of stretch goals like translations for an unfinished game, voice dubbing (which most players will just mute), and vague side-game ideas (how about finishing the main game first?). Meanwhile, updates are slow and lack substance, doing nothing to address the glaring problems. The developer seems to think they’re doing something groundbreaking by adding "three exciting mini-games" as an update, likely just to pat themselves on the back.

If you only care about pretty renders and don't mind the lack of quality in the actual game, keep spending your money. For everyone else, save your time and look for a developer who truly values their players.

Wow, this is loaded with babes! It's not necessarily challenging to unlock fap scenes, and the story seems to guide itself rather than your decisions, but sometime it's nice to just enjoy the story without having to save dozens of times for different LI paths. I'm really looking forward to the next couple of updates.

Pros - Beautiful girls, nice renders and terrific sex animations. A well made game. The opening scene with Milf Brenda was superb.

The cons- I do not understand what the title means at all.

The story is okay, but not the type of story I typically prefer. I'm not a big fan of dark themes in adult games, and I felt the story went downhill after the final handyman scene. I prefer lusty games that don't take themselves too seriously and I wished the game focused more on the relationship between the MC and Anna.

That said, the opening scene with the horny Milf Brenda was, IMO, the best part of the game. I would have enjoyed more scenes like that throughout.

I was interested in the game and I started to like it from the beginning to the middle, then the MC's mental problems and some TAGs that I don't like very much were introduced, such as psychological problems and blackmail.
There was a murder, LIS left the house because of the MC's actions and we didn't see her again.

Graphics are good, they are something that weighs heavily on the value of a game... but the MC's actions weigh even more, if the MC's actions don't match the player's tastes, the game itself can become very unbearable... since every time something good happens... right after the MC freaks out and ruins everything.

The game may be good for those who enjoy a game with a "psychological drama" theme... but it wasn't for me.

Visual : 10/10 you can tell dev is doing he's/she's best to bring some high quality renders.
Story : 10/8.5 the beginning was perfect but after THE ACCIDENT it was a little bit weird and it went back on track.
MC : 10/9 MC have a good story to tell.
Characters : 10/10 characters are gorgeous.
Gameplay : 10/10 you can see improvements and adding things update after update.

PROS
- Great visuals. The best thing about the game.
- Decent amount of content. Plenty of lewd action as well.
- Character models are pretty sexy and unique. Usually you would recognize a few of the daz models from other games cause devs would just grab the model from the store/pirate site and lazily insert them in straight away. But the dev has really put an effort into customizing them and they look great.

CONS
- Underwhelming story, nothing out of the ordinary from what you've probably already seen dozen of times. Even if you don't play F95 games a lot. Guy lives in a female dorm and then all start falling for him.
- The sex scenes are kinda janky and weird. Some poses are a single frame, some sex scenes end abruptly and they lack much interaction/dialogues besides generic moans or the occasional 'omg this feels good' or 'omg you're so big'. The sex lacks passion and feels more like a transaction.
- Very linear. Dev tried to have a good mc vs bad mc mechanic but its not really distinct. All the scenes play out the same regardless of your choices/actions.

PROS:

1. Gorgeous models, not the total best I have seen but very nice and nice to have semi-realistic MILFs
2. Overall visually the VN looks good, still not 5 stars worth, but world and setting is fleshed out nicely.
3. Animations are very good, hands down some of the best I have seen, fluid and high fidelity.
4. Writing is pretty good, reads well and structured nicely.
5. Story has plenty of humour and the visual cues and style just adds to it, its nicely done. The story itself is interesting due to the duel nature of things.
6. UI and Music is generally good, the music livens it up and provides that extra immersion.
7. So far, a decent amount of lewds that are good.

CONS:

1. Characters are bit unrealistic, superficial is the first word that comes to mind, most woman the MC deals with are sex starved nymphos. The MC is not a prude, he comes across as innocent and inexperience but he is not really. This all makes a bit confusing as he almost has two personalities going. Its not confusing really or an issue, its just a little bit jarring if not surprising...The character themselves are not bad or completely superficial, but they are sex crazed (still fun though and good for an adult VN)
2. Story is pretty much that run of the mill college student steps into the unknown with a lot of bullshit hitting him for all angles and much of it is bullshit as its not very realistic (at least in my world). Its hard to fully rate this section though as the story is still unfolding, its not bad and there is room for intrigue to grow. Especially with MC's

3. Pacing is good in terms of adult VN content, so thats nice and for us perverts who like that (why else play adult VN) its nice to get action early on and often. That said it also does feel a bit sudden sometimes. This is a con for me, but its actually a toss up, I do also like some action and not boring, cock blocking that is more dialogue than anything else.
4. Loading option from quick menu or menu is missing, its annoying when wanting to roll back to change a choice and having to go to the main menu first.
5. Sounds like interacting with world, doors closing, sirens, even sexual sounds would be nice, more work sure but provides really nice immersion.
6. No real kinks so far which is probably something that ties into pacing, the MC only has been with the LI for a short while. But hopefully we can see some fun sexy kinks later.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Overall its a good VN, with plenty of potential in terms of story and length. Models and lewds are very nice and will be even better with more kinks on the horizon.

the story is good , the renders are great and sex scenes are very very hot i don't think it could much better than that if you ask me but with each update it seems that it does in fact get better . i have seen better VN than this one but this one is actually pretty good it has a nice balance of storytelling and sex scenes . i don't know about others but that is a plus in my view plenty of sex and decent story

As someone who's played quite a few adult games, I was curious to see what "Growing Things Up" had to offer. At first glance, it seems like a typical life simulator with a mature twist, but there’s more to it than meets the eye.

One thing I really appreciated is the level of control you have over your character's life. You can decide everything from their career path to how they navigate relationships. The choices you make actually matter, and it’s satisfying to see how they affect the story. The art is decent, and there’s a good amount of attention to detail, especially in the adult scenes.

That said, the game isn’t without its flaws. The pacing can be a bit of a drag. There were times when I found myself just going through the motions, trying to grind through certain parts to get to the more interesting content. And while the adult themes are a big part of the game, they’re not always seamlessly integrated. Sometimes, it feels like the game is trying a bit too hard to be edgy, which can take away from the experience.

Another thing is the lack of voice acting, which I found made some of the more intimate scenes feel less engaging. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something I noticed.

After more than a year this VN still has a lot of choices that are labelled as DISABLE, you can still select them but they have no effect, they will get you to the next scene/chapter, no consequence, no variable is set in the script so that they have no impact for the future. Will it change? I don’t think so because they were already there at the beginning of the game one year ago and nothing changed since.

Let’s talk about the content now, release 0.30 now and there’s not much to see except for easy sex, way too easy btw, the MC hardly knows the girls he’s having sex with (5 already). And to make it worse, there is no animation anymore and some of the sex scenes are very rushed (only a few renders for the scene with Sarah that ends abruptly).

The story sounds promising (MC is not the innocent/weak man we thought he was), but the lack of choice (or the disabled choices) and content makes it kinetic, we have no involvement in it. And Deborah being a dominatrix who has a secret BDSM dungeon, I’m a bit afraid of what’s to come.
