The entire time since when, Mr White Knight? Here's a fact: during the period of my patronage I was paying monthly and payments were not paused between releases. I left because his release schedule is glacial and I found the quality to be lacking. That's a subjective opinion and I have every right to criticize. However now that his VN is free, I will not complain anymore.

Just wanted to let you know that I'll be pausing the billing cycle due to a personal matter. Development will continue, but the pace may be slightly slower.

That post is dated July 8, 2024. He has been in business for over three years. I respect that he implemented a new charging policy for this last update, but it is dishonest to imply this has always been the case.

It was even during the first game. It has been paused on many occasions, just because it didn't happen when you were paying doesn't mean it didn't happen, sort of like a tree falling in the woods when no one is around, does it make a sound?

Not sure why people even pay monthly to begin with...if you like the game/dev pay for the update and then dip.

To support the development of a game you like by a developer you like, and would like to assist him in further development. Development costs money.

The developer of BADIK takes a year to produce an update. I support him throughout, because I like the product and want him to continue... even though he's probably richer than all of us.

But, I know he's working continuously on the game, so I can see your point about those who step away for a while. But, those I would hope would suspend payment. If they do, I see no reason to stop subscription, since it's not costing me a penny. I DO have to keep close watch to make sure a developer is doing what he is supposed to do.

There are very few developers who've "earned that right".

There are actually a lot of really good games out there, with developers who put in the time and resources to improve their craft. Many of them have a successfully completed game(s) to their credit. I have no problem in finding developers to support financially. The problem is that I don't have enough funds to support all the one's I like.

Percentage-wise, those really good developers are in a small minority, but they do exist, and they aren't all that hard to find.
