Hmmm.... Those look really good, but I'm noticing some new interactions that aren't in the game. At least, not to my knowledge.

All of Impy's games have a surprisingly fun gameplay loop, but this one is especially fun once you get a hold of how it is played. And, ontop of it, out of all impy's games, I enjoy the character designs in this one the most (Mel and Mio are pure sex. If there was a true bbw like Fio from Sweepers, I would think the game is tailor made for me.)
Regardless, I'd be elated to see a return to work on this project.

Edit to avoid double-posting: Also, I think a lot of the "It's too complex!" complaints could have been solved if the first week or so had a red-arrow tutorial that explains the goals of satisfying daily needs and leveling the rooms and how doing so gains secrets needed to bribe past the audits.

Am I stupid or is there no way to save a run? I clicked "quit to title" assuming it would auto save and add a "continue" button, but I seem to only be able to start a new game.

I haven't played in a long time but I believe that the saving should be automatic. You should check if there's a saving option in settings or something anyways.

Ok, seems like I've run into a bug, now that I fully closed the game and opened it again, the Continue Button is there. But I already had started a New Game assuming I had lost the old. Welp, at least I wasn't that far.

Can someone be so kind and explain how fights work ?
It's been a while, so I'm going of of memory here;

First - the basics;

  1. Combat, or "debates" is essentially a trick taking game. Each turn consists of the following;
  2. Drawing two cards (up to your hand limit of 6), and gain 5 influence
  3. Play or discard cards. Different cards have different effects, but the ultimate goal is to increase your score in the three force categories (red pressure, blue logic, or green resolve). Some cards have a force cost, which will be added to your opponents point total.
  4. Resolve forces. The overall winner (2W 1L or 1W 2T) takes 1 tile from the loser. If they won every category, they take 2 instead.
  5. Upkeep. Any remaining influence is halved, the lowest point total in each category is subtracted from the highest, and the remaining point total is halved, rounding down. (so 9 vs 2 will be 3 vs 0 next round).
To win, you either need to have more tiles after 5 rounds than the opponent (the game says 6, but I think that's counting the mulligan round.) or to have a 5 tile lead.

Some other key points to keep in mind;

  • There is no re-shuffle mechanic. If you draw your entire deck, plus any cards added to it by shuffle effects, you won't be able to draw new cards.
  • Some cards are character specific. These cards will typically have scaling effects based on the specified character's current attributes. They tend to be weaker than the MC's cards early on, but stronger once you've got 2-3 points in a given attribute.
  • Temptation triggers. Different enemies have diffrent temptation triggers. once the bar is filled, the target character's cards are disabled for the rest of combat, but discard effects are doubled. Additionally, any cards that increase temptation as a cost are also disabled. (not a mechanic the game tells you). So if you have a temptation heavy deck, that can be a problem.
  • Cards can have "endurance" costs as well. Prestige and Secrets are two notable examples. These can be a problem if you need to do multiple combats in a single day.

Basic notes on strategy;
  • Keep an eye on what you're opponent is doing. The game gives you a great deal of information about what the opponent is playing next round, and what they can do in future rounds. Make sure to keep that in mind when you're deciding what cards to play.
  • Don't overplay in a single force. You only need one more point than your opponent to win a category. While any remaining force is halved at the end of the round.
  • Play to your opponent's weaknesses, not their strengths. You only need to win 2 categories (or 1 win and two ties) to make progress. Due to the points being halved when the round is over, any points you add to a category you don't win are effectively half as effective (10 -> 5 points, 10-6 -> 2 points. you're 6 points only reduced the remaining score by 3).
  • If possible - try to win early. You only need to win the first 3 rounds, or the first 2 with an overwelming victory in one round, to win the combat. Which typically translates to you spending less glory and secrets. Which might make playing 3-4 cards per turn (without drawing more cards), viable if yiou can win quickly.

As for deckbuilding -
  • Build around empower cards. The basic cards typically generate too little force for thier cost, and even the good character specific cards are tempermental. But a condem after 1-2 menacing presences? That's how you'll take on higher level enemies.
  • Don't use bribe. Get rid of it as soon as possible. Money is an extreamly valuble and rare resource, and it's better spend on increasing your companions mood.
  • When using cards that cost Glory or Secrets - try to either limit them to however much of that resource you can expect to have and/or include cards that you can discard to refill those stats. That latter option is generally better, as it means you can be less conservative with spending those resources in combat, and gives you an oppritunity to spend those resources more outside of combat, or when engaging in multiple combats in a single day.
  • Try not too use too many draw cards, or pair them with shuffle cards. Card draw can be helpful, particularly if you can win early, but it can hurt you in the long run if you exhaust your deck too early. Shuffle cards can help mitigate this, as they add new cards to your deck.
  • Be carful with temptation cards. While they are powerful, as noted above, you can't play them if the opponents temptation bar is already full. This really only applies if you're using the temptation based starting deck. Otherwise you're not likely to get access to that many of these cards in a given playthrough.

Finally - one last piece of advice; buy as many cards as possible. It doesn't matter what the card is, it's the only way to permanently increase your companions base stats. It's not much, but it adds up over an entire playthrough. Try to have at least 24 favors (with 4 glory) before buying cards for maximumn efficency.
