What happened?

I think the idea is that Henry will "go away" for a while. Though i see why some might feel that´s a possibility, i doubt he or the team are leaving for a while. Why i think so? The game is more popular than other years, it has a healthy comunnity (sure, there are some "bad apples" but every comunity has those), there is enough interest in the game that some modding is in develpment and the girls-bois are still being voted.

This is nothing like last time, all cool..

Well that’s frustrating, one the delay and two honestly those kings choices are kinda boring… half the fun of a new character is their outfit and that Judy character is just wearing like regular dirty clothes, I can’t imagine that looking interesting on another character or herself frankly. Maybe kitana, I dunno, we already kinda have a couple characters with similar-ish outfits. At this point I’m mostly hoping the new features are gonna be good, but I’m still guessing the feature is a real quick ‘oh shit, they figured it out’ addition of the mod customization features into the base game and that’s nice but like we have all that, cuz we have the mod. Tough news, but I get it.

What I can say is that there is weekly meetings between the dev team, and 0.54 has been kicking their ass since early December. They knew early that they were going to struggle but didn't want to delay, then they didn't want to delay too much, and eventually their hand has been forced. When questioned about something in the mod chat, TFG simply relied "one of the many reasons why this release will take so much time".

We're a long way from the UI revamp, and self-adding characters, but I like what I've seen so far.

I'm also currently running an opinion poll to see if folks would prefer slower but more stable releases, or a big delay for one large 'health' patch.

I'd be cool with a build post every 2/3 months, with new characters released in the off months, since they can release them separate.

A build every month with new features and characters might be a little too ambitious.

Most likely: game improvements, new characters, suggestions from discord (which ones? who knows!), bug fixes, and optimizing the game engine like cpu usage

- There will be the first lesbian pope
- We will defend democracy from a bug planet at the other edge of the galaxy
- The election race will be between a glitched Bot and an albanian call-center
- The rainbow will officially be banned for racism
- There will be the first ever Beatles/Stones joint live-corpses event
ah yes.. and R-Life will post an update on grappling hook (this is for pros)

Still waiting for the day that the Dissidia Tifa model and Shiranui Mai gets brought over from the ol' 0.39. Hopefully these two are still considered though, esp the Dissidia Tifa.

The additional maps and characters are all contained in the "Mods" download from the OP.

while bummed about the delay, I don't think pushing it back by a month is the same as just flat-out disappearing. so I continue to hope.

My man, no one said nor there have been any new or info about Henry leaving or disappearing, it is annoying to keep seeing this in here when he is fully back and working with the game with some other people, yes, we all know the about the hiatus, but i don't see a reason as of why it should happen again. And obviously one month delay is not even the same as fully disappearing...

Plus, he explained that in those 2 years he never forgot about the game, he just wanted to do a full refresh on it. Also, a lot of bugs and glitches are being worked on, would you rather have rushed releases with issues or simply wait more and having some quality stuff? This is the best 3D sex sim out there so far (yes, i know VaM can be potentially better, but it requires lots of modding and you gotta learn how to program it pretty much) and i don't mind waiting if that means the game will become way better and more polished.
