the patreon post NotAnAlien and Fenriart is talking about is this:
''I’ve received a lot of comments suggesting that the game should have a playable female protagonist and more customization options, like different hairstyles.
I found those ideas very intriguing, but at the time, my coding skills were too limited to implement them. However, I’m now confident that I can handle these features, as I’ve cleared most of the technical challenges I was previously dealing with.
Here are some questions I’d like your input on:
- Should the game stick to its arcade-style roots, or should I make it more of a sandbox game with RPG elements?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
- Should Hiro’s gender be selectable at the start of the game?
This would slightly alter the plot but wouldn’t change the overall story too much. However, it would require significant work to implement.
- Would you prefer a substitute female character as a secondary playable character, unlockable later in the game?
While this is doable, it would involve restructuring the system, as it’s currently designed for one playable character.
- Should all main characters be playable?
This would be a massive undertaking, as each character would need unique animations for every enemy interaction. It’s a fun idea, but it would require a lot of time and effort.
I likely won’t be able to finish these features in the next build, but I’d love to know what you think is the best direction for the game!''
and the replies mostly consist of ''focus on the game first, switching genders should be implemented later'' and i agree with this lol
