The Parsing Errors are probably related to todays maintenance/hardware upgrade.

From this thread

Search is still rebuilding, that might take another 30 mins, until it's complete the search won't be fully functional.

The status page still needs some work and updating to the new servers.

Also some additional tweaking is required which will happen over the coming days.

Other than that, we're fully operational.

I've never had any issue with this tool but today when I tried to update I got the following error:

{
"INDEX_ERROR": "PARSING_FAILED"
}

Other functions are seemingly working correctly. Do you have any advice, what to do? I've deleted the cache form AppData but it did not help.

Before trying to delete everything: anyone else experiencing this? Maybe it is not related to my side.
I've got two werid issues:

I can only start F95checker as an admin, when I start it with user rights it starts to the mini symbols (^ symbol) but doesnt open?

I get this error when I hit refresh:

I started getting this error, a week ago or so it was working fine, what can i do? I'm using v11.0.3 View attachment 4676676
From today I 'm getting the same error.
API error +1
As dnylive said, most likely due to site maintenance. WillyJL do you need to restart the caching service maybe (it's been 3 hours since F95 came back up)?

PARSING_FAILED cache api error has retry cooldown of 6 hours. considering ~5 hours have already passed and i dont feel like going through the hundreds of threads that were affected to make the cache expire sooner, this will be solved within the next 1-2 hours gradually by itself as each affected game's error expires

i will however look at the error and see if there is a pattern i can add to the F95ZONE_UNAVAILABLE error, which expires after 15 minutes, so that it will be less downtime in future cases

Curious - any idea why F95Checker shows up as "Service Host: Group Policy" in Task Manager?

I confirmed that the command line for the process was actually the executable for F95Checker.

Yeah, I haven't seen that before either. Did you start a game via Checker that was in the process of starting (or failed to start)? That would be my best guess beyond just Windows being Windows.

Did you start Checker via command line or via Explorer?

Started via explorer.

Interestingly enough, I completely quit and then re-started the program, and it went back to normal.

starting the program first time sets this off, what options could we change?
it doesnt, that is you making assumpions with no context. that is an error coming from the f95checker api, nothing to do with you. and this kind of error goes away after 15 minutes, if load on f95zone servers has slowed down and it is not being ratelimited anymore. it looks like for the past hour f95zone has been having some stability issues, there are more captchas and ratelimits, and so inevitably the cache api is affected too.

I know your to-do list has to be at least as long as mine, but would it be within the realm of possibility to add information like this - and from the maintenance earlier this week - to those error messages as possible causes, to hopefully cut down on posts like this?

You might need to install bz2 or libbz2 with your package manager. I will see if this can be included in the zip package
I had it installed and was still not working. Fixed it by changin the name of libbz2.so.1 to libbz2.so.1.0 in /usr/lib64/ DO NOT DO THIS. It WILL brake your SO.
Instead, use sudocp to DUPLICATE de file with the new name.

I have a minor problem. Checker is set to start with windows and in background. Well the issue I have is that it starts with windows but it doesn't start in notification area, it shows the program window.

Here is how it is set in the app and what version I am running. OS: Win 11 24H2 (26100.3624). Note: this is an insider preview on the release channel, but the issue i said happens even on non insider builds.
