I have a question, Is it possible to have 2 "stortings" of the game list, I'm using the installed tab as my main sorting to get the games with updates to the top, but would like to have a secondary sorting that sorts the updated games alphabetical.

I am really enjoying the ease of using this app.
i noticed Lessons in Love shows the current version number but the date is listed as Mar 31, 2020

Same - it has significantly reduced the amount of manual time I spent on the site trying to keep up with the games I wanted to play, was playing, etc.

I think some of these issues are due to the fact that there's no 'official' API, and that a lot of work - I suspect - has to be done by parsing the actual text of the forum posts, and if those posts aren't formatted or updated consistently, then the program is unable to grab the correct data.

I would be depressed if I had to start using this site without this app tbh. Not only would I have to go back to having like 1k bookmarks of games but I would have no idea which of them are updated/abandoned etc. The amount of features and the QoL this app offers for the site makes me completely dependent on it now

That’s why I have been thinking about having it running in the background of my PC at all times, the browser extension support for highlighting tags and marking saved games is litterally a site upgrade I didn’t know I needed this much

So a question regarding the background mode: How much ressource does it use in BG mode? Does it respect windows Game Mode and will not scan in BG while gaming?

How much ressource does it use in BG mode?

next to nothing in terms of cpu and gpu usage. ram is same usage as idle, so it depends on how many games you have, but usually never more than 1gb, typical is 300mb - 600mb. images are not stored in ram, they are stored on the gpu, and currently they remain loaded after being loaded the first time, so that would leave less vram for games. in beta there are many improvements to image handling, including an option to unload images from gpu vram when they are not shown on screen, which means in bg mode there is no vram impact compared to the tool being closed.

no, it will keep scanning at the interval you configured, and it has no relevant impact on performance. it is just a few web requests at the interval you specified, your windows pc just by existing does 100 times more web requests because microsoft spies on you all the time.

I feel like this might be a dumb question, but is there a way to make F95Checker scan your folder for games you've added via extension or link, and vice versa? I mean, like how Playnite can scan folders for game.exe files. Having F95Checker detect the game.exe on its own, or simply allowing a drag-and-drop option to place the game.exe onto the correct game field in F95Checker, would make managing games easier and faster. For example, if I add BrightLord via the browser extension and F95Checker detects the name BrightLord in my game folder, it could then automatically check for the BrightLord.exe. Does that make sense?

I agree I did not find this extension useful at all since their is no way to scan folder for games. So Iooked up Playnite and it just works. Add game pointed to folder and almost all games showed up fine and than I did meta download and done.

Yes, it does make sense, but I feel it goes beyond the scope of the application. It is a good idea. Maybe Willy could add it to his very large stack of good ideas. Who knows?

Other functions are seemingly working correctly. Do you have any advice, what to do? I've deleted the cache form AppData but it did not help.

Before trying to delete everything: anyone else experiencing this? Maybe it is not related to my side.

The Parsing Errors are probably related to todays maintenance/hardware upgrade.

PARSING_FAILED cache api error has retry cooldown of 6 hours. considering ~5 hours have already passed and i dont feel like going through the hundreds of threads that were affected to make the cache expire sooner, this will be solved within the next 1-2 hours gradually by itself as each affected game's error expires

i will however look at the error and see if there is a pattern i can add to the F95ZONE_UNAVAILABLE error, which expires after 15 minutes, so that it will be less downtime in future cases

Most likely the issue was with F95 being in maintenance mode, so the cache api was unable to read the contents of it.
