I love it when people have a perfectly valid opinion for themselves, and then decide that it should be the same for everyone...

I'm not saying everyone has to agree with me, but I'm probably right. The developer said he was going to make this game full time, and it's been a long time. Then he spent about a year saying he was trying to get used to marriage, then he became a ghost until the game was tagged as abandoned on F95. Now he says he has personal problems. All this teaches us: Never get married! Because everything was fine before this guy got married and look where he is now.

It's a conscious decision, not because there's no development.

It is good to hear your side of the story it really is, but i would really have to disagree with you that it would be for the best. Everyone is entiteled to their own decisions ofcourse, but i can't help but wonder for who'm is he making the game then if not for his supporters/fans?

Surely you realize as well that the longer any sign of life stays away, the more supporters will get disappointed and perhaps become trolls.

That being said i guess that you giving us an update here can be considered as a sign of life as well But then again, given the fact you state it is a concious decision to stay low due to the current state of the thread, i guess that it would be in his best interest if he would communicate more often through you instead.

To be honest you've just proven JJJ's point as to why he should stay away from this thread -.- If he has personal issues and they arose after his marriage, who knows what happened, making fun of a situation that you are not aware off can be painfully awkward.

She could be the MC's grandmother, right? I don't know, and she's the Donna of the Family, which I think is more dangerous than sleepwalking and getting into bed with Luna in the middle of the night .

As for Season 2, if it is made, I think Hopes will do it completely in visual novel mode.

That way of walking around the city, moving on the black circles and reading only text with 90's graphics has caused a lot of bugs and problems.

The system of money and equipment, I don't know if it can be saved, maybe .

Not yet but she will be. Hopes said s2 is when cordia's route will open.

Yes, Cordia's one of the LIs, though unlike the rest (Luna, Gracie, Isabel), her route will unlock in season 2, after her reconciliation event with Luna.

She's 49 (her bio) and I'm guessing is around same or similar to MC's mom Rina, given her and Rina were friends.

There's even a scene in season 1 in Cordia's office where MC literally asks her "Are you actually my mom?"

Well, hate to break it to ya, but you're incorrect about that.

Previously Hopes did consider ditching the gameplay mechanics, but in the end he decided keep contracts gameplay mechanics around - when he first said he's considering ditching it there was a lot of backlash & strong push against that direction which he was genuinely surprised with.

Really? First time i hear this, but glad about it, i for one hold strong feelings for the MUD style of navigating, but then again perhaps this is just me being nostalgic.

Something I really like about DeLucas and it is not common around other VNs is the 'action scenes'.

- The treason of Trino in Lucania, the Fazio warehouse shootout, the invasion at Ombra's hideout and the incursion at the Bonanzos are one of the best ways to show how to make a VN looks more dynamic. This is one of the most things I missed after all the time without update. Of course, probably there are a lot more games with this, but the timing on DeLucas is almost perfect, really looks like some anime action fom 80's/90's.

Even not being a platform any good for animations (only shortcuts), if the dev has the "Mojo", he can make on Ren'py all those static images look like a great action scene, more like a stop-motion. The only other game I remenber was similar on that matter was Above the Clouds (probably dead project at this point, unfortunately).

I still hope Hopes get back on track soon and deliver new releases.

lol you're really jumping to conclusions there.
By Hopes' explanation in his Patreon & his DM to me, he had things which really impacted him IRL & his mental health & had to take total break from internet and social media overall.
Now, I'm not here to argue with anyone that the way he went about it was the best (it really wasn't, there's no sugarcoating it).
But I'm also not gonna be wearing that spectacles of suspicion of when he started or not working on the game.

All that would be literally conjecture and is just pointless even giving it a thought.

Having said that, while I won't say anything about "communication was bad because no development was happening", I can say with certainty you are incorrect with "communication is bad because no development is happening"

Well, that's the thing.
He did show me snippets of what he has been working on (I thought it was kinda implied when I said "am aware of certain things which I will not disclose" I guess not ).

And before you or anyone say "I won't believe you until you show proof" etc etc, no I won't be showing what he showed me here.
New content sneak peeks that I showed here before, all were done after getting permission from Hopes.
He requested to me this time to not reveal here any sneak peeks he may show me in our DMs, & of course I'm not gonna break that trust.
If that makes people think "Oh this dude isn't showing actual proof to back it up" with a scoff then it is what it is.
Nothing will change my mind about this.

Haha, how is that jumping to conclusions if the overdue development is a fact potrayed by no updates even more as Hopes stated himself that he was not working (appropriatly) at it.

Of course youre not wearing spectacles of suspicion if you have a good relationship to him, it makes you more sympathetic to him which is fine but not the same for every other customer he has.

And i can understand that he has no ambition to show himself here, i wouldnt have any interest in this pit of snakes being in his position either but its not like its any different on his patreon.

The only things which changed is that he now made one (!) very disappointing patreon post right after the avn got abandoned here (maybe coincidence but looks bad anyway) and now seemingly stopped ignoring you.

Thats not like we suddenly have a great outlook again, its maybe sucking a bit less than no communication at all but its barely a difference lol

Nah, i believe you, that he showed you something and i dont expect you to show the stuff he showed you in private. But lets be honest it would be really laughable if he indeed had NOTHING to show since the last update but would still be saying hes working at it.

Whatever, im just annoyed about this because i really liked the story, we will see if there comes more

Guys, it's getting on my nerves that people are constantly complaining about a release. Instead of picking on Hopes, praise him for a job well done and encourage him to keep going. If everyone beats him up, it's logical that at some point he won't want to do it anymore.

Quality just takes time and I'm looking forward to the next release, even if it's just a teaser.

sad that either the dev took a break or the game got Abandoned, either a good story and interesting characters that I enjoyed very much. Wasnt a huge fan of how the sandbox played out but overall game was good.

If you read any of the pages prior to this, this game is not abandoned, and is still being worked on. The developer has had some IRL issues, and is still working on it. No release date is forthcoming, and communication could be better, but it's isn't "officially" abandoned. The tag on a piracy forum for a game is not an official status for that game.

Cheers for the reminder. While it's still very uncertain whether we will ever see any new content, I think the enjoyment this game has given me is well worth the $11.75 I just paid for it.
